A&T CHARITY DAY FOR DARCY

Local business and Poole club sponsors Alan & Thomas Insurance Group are doing there thing today in support of Darcy Ward.

In a special charity event with all proceeds going to the appeal fund for Darcy Ward the Insurance group have encouraged staff across their offices in Poole, Dorchester and Gillingham to 'dress down' for the day in exchange for a donation to the appeal and they are also holding a bake sale.

It is an initiative that has pleased Poole boss Matt Ford who said "this is a great gesture from one of our club sponsors and on behalf of Darcy and his family and the fund organisers I would like to express my thanks for what they are doing. 

"As we saw last Monday when we held a collection for the appeal -  and raised in excess of a staggering £6,300  - the support for Darcy is unbelievable. I am so touched and I know Darcy is too, that the speedway family - which is much wider than just those people that go to the tracks - are being so generous. This idea from the staff at Alan and Thomas epitomises that. I am sure that some of their staff who are getting involved today who are not speedway regulars but they are all keen to help in any small way that they can."

Somerset speedway will be the latest club to stage a collection on behalf of the funds when they host their KO Cup semi-final first leg against Rye House tonight (Friday) at the Oak Tree Arena.
