PREVIEW: PIRATES HEAD TO DEVON LOOKING FOR POINTS

Swindon Robins have confirmed their team changes that will enable them to accommodate Darcy Ward who missed out on a team place with the Pirates this year due to his world ban imposed by the F.I.M.
Poole boss Matt Ford admitted previously that "I am not prepared to make the wholesale team changes that would be required for Darcy to return to us this season. That would be extremely unfair on the riders that would have been effected. We are going reasonably well with the one-to-seven that we have and to turn things on their head in such a fashion that would have been needed could well have upset the dynamics of the side.
"Therefore Darcy, who needs to race, and British speedway in my view needs him to race, will be available for a loan deal. It will be hard for Poole fans to see him in another team's strip but Darcy will still be in our club's future plans, that's for sure.
Although courting interest from a number of Poole's rivals, Ward was always a hot favourite to join Swindon who have struggled with the number one berth following Adrian Miedzinksi's hand injury sustained against Poole when the sides last met in Wiltshire, and whilst Dane Peter Kildemand agreed to temporary cover the position during Miedzinski's injury he always made it clear that it was on a short-term basis.
So once Ward's ban finished on 28th June he swiftly became the Robins' top target and on Tuesday they confirmed that GB youngster Kyle Howarth, himself a former Pirate, would be released to enable Ward and Czech youngster Eduard Krcmar to fit into the side.
On receipt of his visa Ward will return to the UK and is expected to take his place in the Robins team by the time the Pirates visit Blundson this coming Monday.
