JANOWSKI STILL OUT

16/05/15

Poole skipper Maciej Janowski's return has been further delayed for the Pirates after he aggravated his knee injury during Saturday night's Grand Prix round in Tampere, Finland.

The Pole informed Poole boss Matt Ford immediately after the GP event to advise that the roughness of the track was causing his knee some problems and although he had comitted to ride for his Polish club on Sunday he felt that it being a wide open circuit it would have negligible effect on his knee.

Ford commented "I can understand where Magic is coming from and he was very concerned about the effect a small tight track would have on his full recovery. He has been undergoing intense therapy to try and heal fully the broken bones in his knee and he has been pushing the barriers by riding when still not 100% fit."

"Magic explained the situation and said that the last thing he wants to do is to let his Poole fans down but he feels that if he aggravates it tomorrow then it could put his whole season in jeopardy. Last season he was an almost ever present for us and this year he has been sidelined almost as much as he has ridden for us and he told me that in itself hurts his pride a great deal. But, after discussing the matter with him at length I contacted Chris Harris to see if he could help us out by covering again and Bomber was only too pleased to take the booking.

"Magic is hoping that a further week of physio and rest will bring the recovery on and he is determined to be fit to resume for our heavy schedule of three matches commencing Monday week when we visit Leicester on Bank Holiday Monday, return to racing at Wimborne Road on the Wednesday and then visit King's Lynn on the Thursday, all of which will be on bigger circuits and less of a strain on the knee which is his biggest concern at the moment."

Monday's revised teams from:

Belle Vue: Craig Cook, Max Fricke, Josh Grajczonek, Scott Nicholls (capt), Matej Zagar, Stefan Nielsen, Steven Worrall - Team manager: Mark Lemon

Poole: Kacper Gomolski, Chris Harris (guest), Chris Holde (capt), Dakota North, Dave Watt, Kyle Newman, Paul Starke - Team manager: Neil Middleditch
