With two unbeaten performances and two other riders only dropping a point a-piece the Coastal Aluminium Pirates returned to winning ways with an emphatic 25 point victory over the league's newest club Leicester.
The Pirates recorded their biggest league win since September 2013 as they comprehensively roared into the Leicester Lions, skipper Darcy Ward and Maciej Janowski celebrating with paid maximums whilst Przemyslaw Pawlicki and guest Edward Kennett were only headed home the once each during the meeting, which had to have an early interval due to the sunset causing visibility issues on the first turn.
The newly vamped Lions side had little in response to the Pirates power although there Poole fans endured a few jittery moments as they saw their early 12 point advantage whittled away to just three points after a bright start.
The Lions returned their first heat advantage in heat 6, a potentially damaging 8-1 when Jason Doyle won under the black and white helmet with his new team-mate Krzysztof Buczkowski in support before then Nicolai Klindt inflicted Kennett's only defeat a heat later, bolstered by Kyle Newman's second retirement of the meeting that enabled the visitors to wipe out much of that early gain the Pirates had built
But in no mood to slip up as they had done in their shock home defeat against Coventry, the Pirates instantly hit back with Pawlicki and Vaclav Milik avenging for the 8-1 reverse with maximimum points over Mads Korneliussen and Jason Doyle.
With Leicester not falling to 12 or more behind until after the tactical zone had expired and thus unable to attempt any further double point grabs, the Pirates stepped the pressure up over the closing stages to deliver that emphatic win and move back into the play-off positions.
