Poole Pirates v Swindon Robins

The No.1 Carpet Cleaning Poole Pirates couldn't see the powerful Swindon Robins for dust in their Good Friday SGB Premiership Supporters Cup clash at Wimborne Road.

With the Robins winning almost every chase to the first turn with a display of sharp gating, the Pirates took 43 minutes before they could celebrate their first race winner, Nicolai Klindt, the pick of the crop for the Pirates, taking the flag in heat 8 despite recording the hitherto slowest time of the meeting, 62 seconds.

 Possibly inspired by the Dane's triumph Brady Kurtz saw off Troy Batchelor in heat 9 with Grajczonek's third place helping to trim the deficit to just four points.
But this only served to provide a false drawn for the Poole hopefuls as four heats later the Robins were home and dry following a sequence of a 4-2 in heat 10 (Holder being pased by Musielak), a shared heat 11 with Klindt passing Lampart, and a Batchelor/Musielak 5-1 over Holder and Grajczonek, the latter pulling up mid-race.
In heat 13 the gremlins appeared to have got in to Klindt as he was slowly crawling to a halt when Brady Kurtz took a heavy fall causing the race to be stopped. Fortuitously, Klindt was under power at the point of the stoppage and in the re-run he saw his pitside tweaks reaping reward with a second place behind the unbeaten Doyle
The Twitter heat brought Klindt and Doyle together again and this time the Poole rider took the honours, although Holder endured a last place. Swindon signed off with another 5-1 from Batchelor and Musielak to succumb the Pirates to a heavy 16 point home defeat, leaving them looking for their first home soil victory after two defeats.
