Poole Pirates v Plymouth Gladiators

Poole progressed to the semi-final stages of the Knockout Cup with a comprehensive second leg quarter final victory over the Plymouth Gladiators to complement their victory 24 hours earlier at the Coliseum

Any fears that Plymouth might replicate the Pirates performance of the first leg after guest Chris Harris stormed to victory in the opening heat and his fellow 'countyman' Ben Barker came out tops when trading places with Zach Cook, were soon allayed as the Pirates took control of the second leg with an impressive mid-meeting stretch of five heats where they dropped just one point.
